1968 Dodge Charger restored to an R/T (aka R/T Clone) with a 440 big block V8 and the R/T logos. It is one sweet ride! We can't tell you how many waves, honks and compliments we get when we take it out. This car has appreciated in value since we've owned it because there are so few left in such great condition and they are in high demand because of their "shark-like" body styling and their appearances in numerous Hollywood movies.
These cars are starting to be bought up by newly wealthy Asians, so this car may have additional investment potential. We bought this car from a dealer in Syracuse, NY, who told us that the car was originally from Virginia. If you are interested, please refer to the decoded VIN below. The car was fully restored some years ago. The restoration is of high quality all stock except for the wheels, which are chrome slotted mags. The trunk, underside, quarter panels are rust free.
 
The paint still has a high shine and you can eat out of the engine compartment. There is a small area in the doorjamb on the driver side that has some paint cracking. There is a small bubble on the trunk hood; otherwise, the car is clean from top to bottom, inside and out. The chrome is original and looks great with a few signs of thinning and fade. Interior is like new except for some wear on the center console and dash bezel.
The previous owner took care of most of the functional and mechanical parts, including new brakes, vacuum booster, master cylinder and all hardware, fresh motor and transmission, all new rubber seals front to back including all new door, trunk, hood rubber snubbers, hood seals, cowl seals, and hood insulation. Clayton drove the car to a friend's house so they could fit-check some 17-inch wheels and tires that were borrowed from a '70 Camaro, as well as talk about suspension, brakes, and engine options. After he saw the car for the first time, wearing 17x11-inch wheels and 315/35-17 rubber, Clayton was hooked and construction began shortly thereafter. That's also when the difficulty of building a car reared its ugly head, and didn't let up for a year and a half.
About that same time, we had just finished one of Danger Mouse's best engine combinations (Part 6, Test 15) where we installed GMPP's Vortec heads, a COMP Cams Xtreme Energy hydraulic cam and rockers, an Edelbrock Performance RPM Air Gap intake, and a Demon 750 carb. DM made great power with this combo, and told Clayton it would be the perfect way to motivate the Camaro he was putting together that affectionately become known as "Zilla."
But Clayton admitted he wasn't comfortable building his own engine, so he had a copy of DM built. That turned out to be the easy part, and Zilla's new engine made over 420 hp and a monstrous 450 lb-ft of torque. Then it graced Super Chevy's cover in Aug. '03 with a follow-up story in the Jan. '04 issue detailing the entire buildup and test. Once installed in Zilla, Clayton trucked it over to Westech Performance Group for a day of riding on their Superflow chassis dyno.
The power results were typical. Zilla lost an average 21 percent through its 700-R4 automatic and 3.08-equipped 12-bolt drivetrain on its way toward making 326 rear-wheel horsepower and 398 lb-ft of rear wheel torque. Note: We would like to take this moment to correct a mistake we made in reporting Zilla's engine story back then. It was erroneously listed as having a stroke of 3.76-inch, when it's actually 3.48-inch, just like every other 350-cid Chevy ever built.
Any of you out there who have ever tried to paint a car black can understand this next part. Black is unlike any other color. In fact, black is the only color that has EVERY other color in it, except for white, and even sometimes that may be mixed in, too! When you look at a black car, everything shows-every minute detail, every scratch, every pit, every ripple; that's what caused the problem. Clayton couldn't find a painter in SoCal who was capable of delivering the kind of seamless, smooth black paint job that he wanted Zilla to wear.

In combination with the seven-speed S tronic, it accelerates the R8 Coupé from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 300 km/h (186.41 mph). The Audi R8 V10 with the S tronic completes the standard sprint in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 314 km/h (195.11 mph).
The ten-cylinder engine produces 386 kW (525 hp) and delivers 530 Nm (390.91 lb-ft) of torque to the crankshaft at 6,500 rpm. Audi is demonstrating its expertise in ultra lightweight construction technology with the updated R8. The Audi R8 V8 with the six-speed manual gearbox (without a driver) tips the scales at just 1,560 kilograms (3,439.21 lb); the R8 V10 plus with the manual transmission weighs 1,570 kilograms (3,461.26). The Audi engineers have reduced the weight of the top model by roughly 50 kilograms (110.23 lb).
The exterior design has been honed ever further. The restructured all-LED headlights and rear lights are standard with all models. The Singleframe grille with tapered corners at the top, the redesigned diffuser and the large, round tailpipes are the most eye-catching new features. The diffuser of the Audi R8 V10 plus features a different geometry and is made of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer. The SRT Viper and Viper GTS both will have same new logo called ‘Stryker’ by the viper club of America. This new viper has been given the naturally aspirated  8.4 litre v10  which produces 640hp and 600lb torque. This engine also made a record as it has more torque then any other naturally aspirated  engine in the world. The new Viper is also 25 pound lighter then the old one, and tech that includes electronic mulitstage stability control, traction control and 4 way brakes.
The whole mess is linked to a 6-speed manual (manual) transmission with a shorter throw and closer gear ratios. While I am thrilled to hear that it's got a manual transmission, I'm ecstatic to learn that the shifting situation has been improved. No more icing my right shoulder after a stint in the driver's seat. There are two versions of the new Viper; the regular one and the GTS. The legendary manual gearbox is refreshed too and is 3.55 mili second faster then older one. The body is aluminum and interoir totally new .right now there is no information about it acceleration or top speed. The 640-hp V10 aluminum engine sticks around for the reincarnated Viper. The look of the Viper has become iconic in the past nearly two decades, and SRT didn't want to mess with that. There were rumors that new partner-via-Fiat Ferrari might have a hand in the new Viper's design, but the final product seems to have kept the brutish American look we've come to love. The ultra-high flow intake manifold is newly lightened, and there's an aluminum flywheel.
But like so many Americans, the Viper did need to lose some weight. This was achieved by using new carbon-fiber panels for the hood, roof, and decklid, plus aluminum door panels. Signature touches like the "gills" at the fenders that cool the engine and the double-bubble roofline that allows for more headroom were kept, while the headlights and taillights got the full LED treatment and a little snarly upgrade to their look.

Toyota's designers have modernized the looks of the popular on both sides of the Atlantic RAV4, applying familiar styling cues from their more recent models like the Auris hatchback and estate giving the SUV a sharper appearance.The new compact crossover looks like it also features a larger footprint, which if true, should improve passenger and possibly luggage space, while the interior boasts more upscale materials, such as the leather trim on the dashboard of the display vehicle.
We have nothing official yet on the 2013 RAV4's specifications, but it has been rumored for a while now that the North American model may drop the V6 option and follow the example of the rivaling Honda CR-V offering a single four-cylinder engine. In other regions like Europe, the new RAV4 will be available with diesel units as well, possibly sourced from the BMW Group as part of an agreement signed between the two automakers.
Stay tuned for more as the 2013 RAV4 will make its global debut later today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. RAV4 was a two-time comparison-test champ, so you know we liked it, but it had exactly one thrilling characteristic: The totally bitchin’, un-crossover-like gusto provided by the optional V-6. (Seriously. Zero to 60 in 6.4 seconds.) But now that’s gone, as the new, fourth-generation 2013 Toyota RAV4 will amble through suburbia exclusively on four-cylinder power.
The rest of the formula all the sorta boring stuff that made it great carries over, though, with some key additions to bring it up to modern spec. The four-cylinder is again a 2.5-liter unit, this time making 176 hp versus the previous model’s 179. (Torque stays pat at 172 lb-ft.) Both front- and all-wheel-drive models will be offered, the latter gaining the ability to shunt torque fore and aft and a locking mode that forces more power rearward in low-speed, low-traction situations such as when digging through mud or sand.
This time around, the RAV4 gets a six-speed automatic transmission, which replaces a crusty four-speed unit and incorporates an S mode that blips the throttle on downshifts. The swap improves fuel economy by about five to ten percent, to 24/31 for FWD models and 22/29 for all-wheel-drivers, but we think those trading in their old RAV4s will most enjoy the lower levels of engine noise while on the freeway.

The luggage compartment has grown by 30 liters to 380 liters, while the front passenger seat can be optionally fold fully forward, creating a loadspace of up to 2,412 mm (95 inches) long. As we noted in our previous post, the interior styling evolves the design seen on the outgoing Mk6 Golf with the most visible change concerning the center console that is now angled more towards the driver.
New highlights include the touchscreen systems, which at least in certain European countries such as the UK, will come as standard on all models, starting with a 5.8-inch color display system, and rising to the range-topping satellite navigation system with eight-inch color display, plus the new electronic parking brake with an auto-hold feature. Also, for the first time in a Volkswagen, the compartment under the centre armrest optionally includes a universal phone holder with inductive aerial.
