The new Clio's cabin looks more
premium and is distinguished by its chic styling and interesting details
such as a pair of deeply set instrument panel gauges and a large screen
for the infotaintment and navigation system on the center console,
which may or may not be standard on all models. The 'Le Moniteur
Automobile' website that posted these images says that Renault's Ford
Fiesta and Fiat Punto rival will be available with several engines.
These
include a new 0.9-liter three-cylinder turbocharged Energy TCe petrol
delivering 89hp (90PS) and 135Nm (100 lb-ft) of peak torque with an
average fuel consumption of 4.3lt/100km (54.7 mpg US or 65.7 mpg UK) and
CO2 emissions of just 99g/km. There's also a 1.5-liter four-cylinder
turbo diesel (Energy dCi 90) with 89hp (90PS), which is good for a
combined fuel consumption of just 3.2lt/100km (73.5 mpg US or 88.3 mpg
UK).
Following
this morning's leaked images, Renault has decided to reveal the 2013
Clio earlier. The fourth generation of the Renault Clio (2013) is going
to have its world debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, before going to
sale next year. Renault changed the exterior design of the 2013 Clio
completely. The inspiration for the new styling comes from the DeZir
concept, which made quite an impression when it was unveiled.
The
2013 Renault Clio will be sold with a choice between three engines,
including the French carmaker's first three-cylinder turbocharged petrol
(0.9-litre TCe 90). The other two units are the 1.2 TCe 120 and the
diesel 1.5 dCi 90. The 2013 Clio TCe 120 is equipped with the 6-speed
EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) transmission, which is the first of its kind
in the B segment. In terms of technology, the 2013 Renault Clio comes
with a rear parking camera, R-Link integrated, and an Internet connected
touchscreen tablet.
The
R-Link is the industry's first-ever Application Store for cars. Apart
from being 100 kg lighter than the Clio Mk3, the 2013 model is also
offering a wider range of personalization options. The interior
highlights of the new Clio (2013) include various chrome and gloss-black
trim parts, and a digital speedometer. Most of the interior trim parts
are customizable. The R-Link, which is standard from Dynamique upwards,
includes a seven-inch (18cm) touchscreen.
